If you follow the roads winding through the Catskill mountains, you can see many things: the blue sky, the tree-covered mountains, the gently sloping valleys, and the rock covered ridges. And, if you follow one dead-end dirt road, you will see the Catskill Barn Home, tucked comfortably into the surrounding scenery.
This project was designed with openness in mind. Two equal wings give the ground floor additional space, while the vaulted great room, with its view of the landscape, invites indoors the airy freedom of the mountains. The use of sling braces take away the need for posts in the great room, allowing for a spaciousness that is evident throughout the home.
